Let’s take a look at how your donations have a positive impact in fighting blood cancers! Your bowling registration fee and/or your sponsorship dollars go toward the Leukemia Research Foundation and specifically the Jessica Shayne Magid “Chai” Chapter, one of 20+ chapters dedicated to raising money to providing educational resources as well as patient and family emotional support and financial resources to those inflicted with blood cancers. Your donations support research that enables investigators to complete studies around this world to ultimately find a cure for blood cancers.
Lives are both served and saved with your donations. Thank you in advance for your support! Your participation in our bowling event, by being a sponsor or a bowler, makes a huge difference in the lives of those inflicted with blood cancers.
I wanted to provide a statistic from the LRF site that exemplifies our advances in research in the last century:
”Due to advances in treatment, there has been a dramatic improvement in survival for people with acute lymphocytic leukemia, from a 5-year relative survival rate of 38% in the mid-1970s to 65% in the late 1990s. Survival rates for children with acute lymphocytic leukemia have increased from 53% to 87% over the same time period”
Every penny counts to continue advances in the treatment of blood cancers and ultimately a cure to eradicate these diseases.

As many of you may have noticed, in updating our website to highlight this year’s JSM Bowl-a-rama, the posts from the last few years about the JSM Family Golf Tournament still appear on the home page. We wanted to keep the history of our Jessica Shayne Magid Chapter “alive” and not erase these past posts. That said, please focus your attention on the updated 2009 posts as this year we are hosting a Bowl-a-rama in place of the family golf tournament.
Sunday July 19th, 2009 is the date to remember for the 1st annual Bowl-a-rama! Mark this date on your calendars- we hope to see you there!
